The minister of works, David Umahi, has urged the people of the southeast to shun calls for protests against the government of the day.
He made the call in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State on Wednesday, July 17.
The minister spoke during the unveiling of the legacy road projects of President Bola Tinubu to stakeholders and people of the state.
According to him, the president is doing everything possible to ameliorate the hardship in the country.
He noted that the president took hard some decisions for the betterment of the country.
He said: “The president is doing everything possible to ameliorate and end the hardship. Let us support him, he is doing everything to unite Nigeria, put food on our tables, and develop the health, education and other sectors. Pray for him and support him.
The Minister also noted that there has been a marked improvement in the security of the southeast since President Tinubu’s administration came on board.
He called on the Nigerians to eschew statements that may stoke crisis in the country nothing that the country needs at this point is a peaceful atmosphere to develop.
“We should stop the fanning embers of division. We are paying for the past years of neglect and mismanagement. We failed to plan properly in the past and we have to accept our past mistakes and find ways to start correcting them and this is what the President is doing”, he said.(NATION)
