NACETEM Academy will produce skilled workforce in Nigeria-D-G

The Director General of the National Centre for Technology Management(NACETEM),Dr Olushola Ogunsanga, said NACETEM Academy was born out of the need to produce skilled workforce.

He said this skilled workforce would be in high demand during the inevitable and imminent fourth industrial revolution.

Ogunsanga said this at the ongoing 2024 Innovation and Technology Expo in Abuja on Monday.

The D-G assured that the academy shall provide Nigeria with an innovation finishing school for both public and private sectors of the national economy.

He said the NACETEM Academy had arrayed a growing and significant bouquet of self-paced international skills certification courses that would help digital Nigerians to excel in a digital economy.

“Among the training opportunities being developed at the NACETEM Academy are training and certification for new generation Skippers, 2nd Engineers, mariners and boat builders.

“Commercial opportunities are being married with social business strategies to create a skilled workforce that would exploit the huge potentials of the marine and blue economy.

“Glass-fibre, aluminum and metal/ceramic alloy materials are being deployed to boat construction in order to infuse the latest materials science and engineering technologies to the tools enhancement and development of this marine economy, ” Ogunsanga said.

The NACETEM boss also spoke about Tech Advantage, which he said digitised the indigenous ” Igbo apprenticeship ” scheme.

He said it also digitised Lagos GSM village knowledge transfer models, to massify the value of its job creativity through use of ICT to increase it’s reach within the general Nigerian populace.

Ogunsanga called on Nigerians to come and be part of the construction of a new Nigeria with skilled individuals whose skills are relevant to the socio-economic needs of Nigeria!

Mr. Tor Shammar, Country Representative, Neuro-Linguistics Program, who was the key note speaker, urged that NACETEM’s vision should be followed in order to get money, growth and profit.

He outlined five reasons why people should adopt what NACETEM was all about.

“STI gives you expansion and expansion can happen if you follow the digital agenda of NACETEM.

” Technology is changing everyday, something comes up everyday.

“You can generate more income if you are efficient, take care of yourself, your people, ” Shammar said.
